This phrase serves as a reminder for reliance on God in difficult times. Written in traditional and ancient Kufic scipt, it features an Arabic phrase often said by Muslims in times of despair, “Hasbuna Allahu wa Ni’m Al-Wakeel” or “God is sufficient for me and the best of protectors.”
Over the last few months, we’ve also been hearing it said by those in Gaza in their most vulnerable moments, which should serve as a testament to their faith and resilience in such difficult times.
The Kufic style of writing is found in ancient text and is well known for its angular script and can be found in ancient text, on tombstones and ancient coins throughout history. Kufic script has rules about spacing and portportions, which were adhered to in designing this poster.
